Welcome to the IBS site

The Islamic Burial Society (IBS) was born out of the needs Muslims in The
Netherlands felt concerning Islamic burial customs. The IBS’s main
directive is to ensure eternal rest for the dearly departed/deceased. In
addition, the IBS is currently negotiating with local authorities to
realise the founding of one or more dedicated Islamic burial sites in The
Netherlands.

The IBS has also set itself the goals of promoting the transfer of
knowledge concerning Islamic burial traditions and customs, promoting
jurisprudence with regard to Islamic burial laws and the founding of a
Body of Islamic Undertakers.

The IBS realises that a part of the target group wishes to be interred in
their homeland / land of origin. The IBS acknowledges this and is lobbying
for faster repatriation of deceased Muslims their country of origin.
